Mothers are where life begins, and a mother's love never ends. Proverbs 31:10, "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies." Mothers are truly a treasure beyond measure, mothers plant the seeds of love and kindness.
This will be the third Mother's Day that my mother will be in heaven. I would like to say her name. Her name is Joyce. I truly miss her. Two things I remember the most about my mother was her unconditional love and the joy she got from family gatherings.
In honor of all mothers on Sunday, May 13, I am asking our church family to volunteer to be a little closer than usual. I am asking for two things.
First, we have five entrances into our building which can be very accommodating; however, these five entrances cause us to miss seeing and greeting each other as a church family. Let's make this Mother's Day more about family. I am asking that you volunteer and park in a way that we can all use the front entrance. You will see, we have a wonderful church family with smiling faces that love God and each other. Debra and I will park in the front and greet you at the lobby entrance.
My mother enjoyed family gatherings. She enjoyed everyone crowding into the den or living room even if it was a little tight. We enjoyed family time together.
Second, I am asking our church family to move up a little closer in the same room. Let's bring the family a little closer this Mother's Day. You may not be a front row person, but there are many seats in front of you that could be filled to bring the family closer together. If you are not physically able to stand for all the praise and worship, it's okay. You don't have to sit under the balcony if you need to be seated. Volunteer to bring your smile a little closer to your brother and sister this Mother's Day.
Start now and invite your children to attend Mother's Day worship here with the Mount Holly Church family. Ask your mother and siblings to meet you here also for family worship. If you are like me and your mother is already in heaven or your family lives in another area, Debra and I would be honored to be your host family for the special Mother's Day worship.
Family really matters, and we thank God for our Mount Holly Church family.
